Current Projects
In Year 4 we will focus on on:
- Publishing 'State of the Sector 2016' - an expanded, ambitious report building on previous years' work and based on substantial online survey and interviews with key people in the sector. See here for previous years publications.
- Bringing together, supporting and providing secretariat for those commissioning substance use services at a time of immense change and reduced funding to share good practice and offer peer support. For more information see here.
- Exploring long term physical health harms of dependent drinkers and how services can do better in identifying them. We have recently published the report, "Missed Opportunities".
- Disseminating and encouraging the use of the quality standards for community drug and alcohol treatment services produced in 15/16. To access the standards see here.
Focus on Recovery Beach
Recovery Beach offers drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs for structured, abstinence-based treatment in a supportive environment. Designed to promote sustainable recovery, its programs combine evidence-based therapeutic interventions with peer support, wellbeing activities, and life-skills development. Working in alignment with sector quality standards and best practice guidance, Recovery Beach provides a safe and therapeutic setting for individuals seeking to overcome substance dependency. The service focuses not only on immediate stabilisation but also on long-term recovery outcomes, supporting residents to rebuild physical health, emotional resilience, and social reintegration.
Through close collaboration with commissioners, referring agencies, and recovery networks, Recovery Beach contributes to strengthening the wider treatment landscape while delivering person-centred care tailored to individual recovery journeys.
