Commissioning for recovery
Year 4
We ran further good-practice forums with commissioners in November 2016 and February 2017, both of which again proved very useful sessions.
We published bulletins in December 2016 and March 2017 with updates on the Recovery Partnership and useful resources for substance misuse commissioners.
Year 3
We ran good-practice forums with commissioners in June 2015 and February 2016. These proved very useful forums for commissioners around the country using a variety of models and commissioning a variety of services to have frank and productive conversation about challenges, funding and innovation. The briefing note Commissioning for Recovery summarises the discussions.
We published a bulletin in December 2015 and a second in April 2016, both containing resources and news of interest to those commissioning substance misuse services.
Year 2
DrugScope, on behalf of the Recovery Partnership, initiated the building of the network by holding a roundtable event attended by substance use commissioners from across the country. Attendees discussed challenges and opportunities which were captured in Advocating for treatment and recovery at the strategic level: Lessons from a roundtable of commissioners (pdf).
One of the Year 2 regional events also focused on commissioning, and resulted in the publication of the briefing A changing landscape for commissioning (pdf).
